How Can Traditional Craftsmanship Enterprises Achieve Breakthrough Innovation through Digital Intelligence? — A Case Study Based on Luzhou Laojiao

Abstract

How traditional craft enterprises can leverage digitalization to achieve breakthrough innovation is of great significance for their adaptation to the digital wave. Based on the theory of digital innovation, this paper analyzes the mechanism of breakthrough innovation driven by digitalization in traditional craft enterprises through a case study of Luzhou Laojiao. The study found that: (1) Traditional craft enterprises mainly go through three core stages in achieving breakthrough innovation through digitalization: basic reshaping, inheritance-style translation, and extended innovation. Its essence is to take inheritance and innovation as the core and use digital technology and tools to help enterprises complete the innovative transformation of the traditional craft system into a digital craft system. (2) The "support-drive" mechanism of digital innovation is the key to achieving this innovative transformation. That is, digitalization, through the interaction of organizational support and technology drive, helps enterprises overcome the cognitive limitations and capability barriers of inheritance and innovation of traditional crafts in the digital economy era, and achieve breakthrough innovation. The research conclusions can provide new insights into the innovative development of traditional craft enterprises in the digital economy era and help expand the theoretical research on breakthrough innovation and digital innovation.
