Abstract

This study focuses on the field of two-dimensional materials in materials science. A corpus of abstracts from papers in this field was constructed to examine the potential technological applications reflected in the abstracts. A multiple linear regression model was used to test how artificial intelligence (AI) empowers scientific research and influences the technological application value of the research results. Mediation effect analysis revealed that AI-enabled scientific research can improve research efficiency, better focus on technological needs, and reflect application orientation, thereby enhancing the technological application value of the results. This reveals the pathway by which AI technology enhances the application value of research findings. Moderating effect analysis showed that the maturity of AI technology has a positive moderating effect on the technological application value generated by AI-enabled scientific research. However, the researcher's academic influence and personal experience did not significantly affect the technological application value brought about by AI-enabled scientific research.
